SLS Warehousing (Private) Limited was established in 1994 to provide warehousing management and logistical services to International and Local Companies trading in the import and sale of sugar to the domestic market.
In 1996 Unilever Sri Lanka, one of the largest global Tea trading and export Companies in Sri Lanka, offered SLSW the warehouse management of its tea storage. This was a milestone in the history of the company as SLSW thereafter focused on providing a range of specialized services to Tea Exporters and Traders in Sri Lanka and is today a leading third party service provider to the tea industry.
Located on a secure 6 acre property in close proximity to the Commercial hub of Colombo and the Port of Colombo, SLSW manages 150,000 sq feet of covered warehousing space, fitted with 10,000 racks. Within the warehouses 4 rotary drum tea blending plants with a monthly blending capacity of 3.5 million Kilos, a dedicated tea packaging facility, laboratory / tea sampling rooms, and environmentally friendly material handling equipment assure Customers the highest international standards of hygiene and service from collection of tea to the delivery of export goods to the Port of Colombo.
Storage and logistical services for Broken Mix Fannings Tea (BMF) are provided at a dedicated warehouse approved by the Ceylon Tea Board and Local Government authorities at Ingiriya, 44km from Colombo.
